In the Audience vs. Having an Audience

 

Recently I received a notice announcing something like this: “This is your invitation to be a part of the live audience for our new worship recording.” 

Now I’m sure that the worship leaders and the promoters of the project had great intentions. They are involved in worship ministry, after all, because they want to connect people with their Creator. They use their gifts in order to give expressions of praise and worship to God and to facilitate these expressions for others. I am wondering, however, about their choice of words. (Keep reading)

A Death Bed Confession

 

My younger brother Darrell died of stage 4 liver cancer on June 18th, 2015 at the age of 51 years, 10 months, and 29 days. Less than three months earlier, my nephew Ryan led him to the Lord, his dad’s new birth in Christ being celebrated by family members in attendance at his water baptism on May 24th. 

 

I am told that one of Darrell’s long time buddies, upon hearing of his recent surrender to Christ, said, “Oh sure. Everyone gets saved when they are on their death bed!”

One Thing You Need To Know

 

Recently, I was about 1200 kilometres into a 1600 kilometre drive (for my American friends - that’s 750 miles into a 1000 mile drive) when I came upon one of those church signs. In bold capital letters: 

IF THERE IS ONE THING THAT YOU NEED TO KNOW, IT IS THIS - 

THE DEVIL HATES YOU AND IS TRYING TO TAKE YOU OUT.
