Recently I received a notice announcing something like this: “This is your invitation to be a part of the live audience for our new worship recording.”
Now I’m sure that the worship leaders and the promoters of the project had great intentions. They are involved in worship ministry, after all, because they want to connect people with their Creator. They use their gifts in order to give expressions of praise and worship to God and to facilitate these expressions for others. I am wondering, however, about their choice of words. (Keep reading)
A few years ago, I began a search for a book I could have our Sanctus peer-mentors read in preparation for their role in journeying with our first year students in close relationship.
Bottom line - I could not find one. Here’s why:

read your bible daily (as in) let the bible read you daily
JEHOVAH Ro’i (Guide)
I believe in JEHOVAH Ro’i
Safe pasture is granted to me
Where You lead me, my Shepherd. I will follow
JEHOVAH Ro’i, I believe
I believe in JEHOVAH Jireh
Provision is granted to me
Daily bread, He’s so graciously given
JEHOVAH Jireh, I believe
I believe in JEHOVAH Shalom
His Spirit is granted to me
Perfect peace beyond understanding
JEHOVAH Shalom, I believe
My younger brother Darrell died of stage 4 liver cancer on June 18th, 2015 at the age of 51 years, 10 months, and 29 days. Less than three months earlier, my nephew Ryan led him to the Lord, his dad’s new birth in Christ being celebrated by family members in attendance at his water baptism on May 24th.
I am told that one of Darrell’s long time buddies, upon hearing of his recent surrender to Christ, said, “Oh sure. Everyone gets saved when they are on their death bed!”
Recently, I was about 1200 kilometres into a 1600 kilometre drive (for my American friends - that’s 750 miles into a 1000 mile drive) when I came upon one of those church signs. In bold capital letters:
IF THERE IS ONE THING THAT YOU NEED TO KNOW, IT IS THIS -
THE DEVIL HATES YOU AND IS TRYING TO TAKE YOU OUT.
Seriously? One thing I need to know?
